ROLE PLAY In pairs: A: You are Lord Sloane, a British aristocrat, very defensive of the Royal Family and of the monarchical system. You are also suffering from a painful attack of gout, and feel pretty hostile to everybody, but particularly to the Americans, who have no respect for tradition. B: You are Hank Stout, a Democrat from San Francisco. You are quite fascinated by the charm of Old England, but think they are all a bit ridiculous, with their traditions and their rituals. And you cannot resist provoking old Lord Sloane. A starts: I see you have started again all that circus you Americans set up for your electoral campaigns.
