<< BACK English in India India is a big country with more than one billion (1, 000,000,000) people. Hindi is the biggest language in India, but there are almost 200 more languages in the country!
Between 4 and 5 per cent (around 45 million) of the population use English regularly. That's about three times as many people as in the whole of Australia!
