Are there still class differences? In the 1960's all the BBC newscasters had to speak "proper" English. Nowadays BBC newscasters may speak any dialect or "sociolect". Do British private schools, like Eaton, still have an influence on the way people in England speak and the way they see dialects/sociolects as social markers?
