Word formation - prefixes


"A pre-war model in a post-war setting."

The beginning of a word is often a prefix, like pre- and post- above. Understanding the use and the meaning of Latin (and some Greek) prefixes like pre- (before) and post- (after) increases your word knowledge and your word formation skills tremendously.

As there are not an awful lot of prefixes, it is really a super investment to get to know them!
