<< BACK Prerequisites Prerequisites are all the things you need to start a course or an education. It is everything from registration, fees, and your own available time, to the necessary qualifications.

The practical things are usually a piece of cake, but when it comes to necessary qualifications there is a lot to say. Too many students, in adult education especially, start at the wrong level. To allow students into a course without having tested their grounding thoroughly is no less than a crime. Necessary qualifications must not be reduced to a formal certificate, but each and every student must be given a reliable placement test. In our opinion the best instrument is an interview with the student in the foreign language (English). If that option is not available there are different testing methods that will work reasonably well. If there is very little time, online vocabulary and grammar tests in combination with a questionnaire will have to do. Please note that it is in your own best interest to start at the right level, so make sure you are given a test. Do the test to the best of your ability.
