'Realia' is not an internationally accepted term. We use it for the basic knowledge we think the learner should acquire about the English-speaking world. You may understand it as 'cultural literacy' if you like.
We think it is natural to include not only literature, geography, sports, and social studies, but also things like national holidays, national character, educational systems, spare time activities, job opportunities, and much more.
There must be areas that interest you. Make sure you point out to your teacher what you would like to do.
